The police-focused reality series will not return.
June 10, 2020
One day after the cancellation of Cops, another police-focused reality series is being taken off the air. A&E has cancelled Live PD after four seasons in the wake of ongoing protests against police brutality following the death of George Floyd.
Premiering in 2016, Live PD became a flagship for the network, airing nearly 300 episodes in just three and a half years. Its rapid rise in popularity saw it rank as one of cable TV's top series on Friday and Saturday nights. Today's news comes just one month after the show was renewed for an additional 160 episodes, which would have seen it on the air for at least another two years.
Hosted by Dan Abrams alongside analyst Tom Morris Jr., Live PD captures the patrols of a variety of America's busiest police forces in urban and rural communities. Audiences get insight about the events in real time during a typical night's work using a mix of dash cams, fixed rig, and handheld cameras.

@terry
that they showed the good side of police is why they got cancelled. if they had shown how despicable the cops treat black people, they should have continued it, but that is not what the target audience wants to see, so they had to stop airing it. i now that most cops aren't murderous bigots, but the police is definitely a racist organisation. i also know that minorities are more likely then white people to behave criminally, but that doesn't make it okay to kill them. and sadly, that is what too many cops do. so if you're a cop: don't kill people! please.

This is a horrible decision. Live PD showed the good side of Police. This was one of my absolute favorite shows. All the other spin offs shows from it don't come close to being as good as it was. For every terrible Police Officer there are so many more that are good. I am all for the bad Offiers being punished. But don't lay blame on those who do not deserve it.
Just dumb

Glad to see this! With everything going on in this country right now I have no respect for cops. They are out of control. The riots are simply the natural outcome of the situation that all these created.
The badge and the uniform mean nothing to me. I don't respect the police. I don't trust the police. And I no longer recognize their authority.
We already live in a police state and cops have all but formally declared war on the citizens. I really hope we see more people taking a stand and fighting back. Cops have been killing innocent people for decades.

Just because you happened to be part of an incident by police that caused a human to loose thier life and your footage was lost, then massive major protests spring around another police incident, and people start to wonder why your footage was lost, even with that semi valid reason to end the show you shouldn't have. I watch it. What about meeeeeeeee! #itsallaboutME

Great -- so in a knee-jerk reaction, A&E just took away the Most Wanted and MIssing Children's segments, which Live PD viewers helped solve by the hundreds. Maybe they should have taken a breath, thought about the formatting over the summer and tried to make it work for the positive. There were a lot of great community moments on that show besides arrests! There's really no need for me to watch anything on A&E anymore!

Maybe they can bring back Live PD as Live PD: Running from the blue lights. It would follow the looters and brick throwers though their nights of mayhem live as the action happens. The cameras following all the action of Antifa planing attacks on police stations, their staging for riots they start and showing them attacking anyone who disagrees with them. They could showcase Seattle's new country within a city. It would show the world the proper way to run a city done by their rules. No police, just armed protesters keeping the peace and shaking down store owners. I'm sure it would get a large audience.

This is what happens when right wingers in the administration try to stop companies from having first amendment rights.
