The cable drama will return for Season 2.
June 11, 2020
Starz announced today that Hightown has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes just four episodes into the drama's freshman run, which has been garnering healthy viewership and generally favorable reviews.
The series follows a National Marine Fisheries Services Officer in Cape Cod whose carefree, booze-addled life is upended when she discovers a dead body on the beach during a holiday weekend. This thrusts her into the center of a perilous opioid ring investigation, which she sets out to solve on her own amidst her personal journey to sobriety.
Look for Season 2 of Hightown in 2021.

The 7th episode last night for June 28th was the coolest, intense , extreme and yet real feeling episode of television for me since the last 2 Watchmen episodes. What happened in the last 20 mins is jaw drop after jaw drop with a huge pinch of wtf just happened.

I'mNeverWrong...is again correct.
This was the issue with Batgirl when it started. They made it more about her sexuality than about the story.
I couldn't care less about her sexuality, and I don't mind it even being brought up. But to make it a point to bring it up just so you can show how woke you can be is tedious and stupid.
The irony is that Stumptown, which takes place in one of the most progressive towns in America, is about a bisexual woman, a fact that's just brought up when you first see her with a woman. Then it was over. Nobody giving a lecture, and no one giving a wink-and-nod. It just...happened. That's the way it's supposed to be done.

Unfortunately jumping on the "woke" bandwagon seems pretty much mandatory for a lot of shows and movies these days. That's particularly ironic looking at all the hypocrisy going on in hollywood.
Be that as it may, I don't wanna be morally educated by tv shows and I don't want them to even try that. And hey Starz, a lesbian alcoholic is not enough. She also has to be a single mum, has to be disabled in at least three ways and has to be been abused as a child ;-)

Dobey, using last names is actually often MORE respectful in America. "Christian names" are reserved for more personal relationships. And thanks for telling me what I should think and how I should behave.. I hope that ego serves you well in the future.

Imnw. you do not use last names when talking to someone, After all you do not even have the courage to use your own name it seems? Anyways , I am glad you set it straight , I get where you are coming from now It's makes sense to me. reread your first one and see how it comes accross , compared to your real reason. Generally when people complain about lesbians it's bias related. but now I get your point. Nothing wrong with religion as long as you don't let it control you. this is why so many american muslim women leave that faith. and why I didn't convert to it. I was going to but.. but they tasted freedom of thought , and most mosques preached death to gays that I went to. ironic eh?

I’m never wrong is right... I have watched every episode hoping this show will get better but it doesn’t. I love Monica but I would like to see more storyline on the killing and not how many people she can sleep with in one episode. Too repetitive and the dialogue sucks as well as the writing. So disappointed in Starz.

Dobey.. you missed my point.... the entire point is I DON'T care and it DOESN'T matter but they've made that a good 70-80% of the episodes. Which is fine if the goal is a drama about being an alcoholic lesbian. However, the show was and is marketed as a "murder mystery" which is CLEARLY only a secondary or tertiary storyline. My complaint is never about her sexuality.. it's about the horrible marketing associated with the show. Imagine marketing "Last Man Standing" as a political drama.... or "The Walking Dead" as a romance. That's exactly the track they've taken for the advertising -- complete ad focus on a storyline that is largely not present in the episodes. And I have no religion.. I'm a RATIONAL human. I don't worship magical zombies.

who cares if she is a lesbian. many women I have known have told me of multiple experiences with women. SO who cares mnw. I do agree that they keep mentioning it for ratings purposes in real life most people do not talk about their sexuality much. I mean who cares? But I think you DO CARE she is one. So just admit that your religion is based on fallacies concerning gayness and move on. as for alcoholism , my god a 6th of this country is addicted to something. I thank god I gave up drinking and worse who needs it? so her boozing is very common.
