No Season 2 for the musical drama.
July 2, 2020
It is being reported that The CW has cancelled Katy Keene after one season. The sad news comes less than two months after the Riverdale spin-off concluded its freshman run. There may be hope for its future though, as Warner Bros. Television is said to be looking to find a new home for the musical drama.
Based on the Archie Comics character of the same name, Katy Keene follows the titular aspiring fashion designer who creates clothes for her all her friends. Her roommate Josie is an up-and-coming singer looking for her big break. Together with their friends, they are chasing their dreams in the big city of New York.

@Sherry - I have DirecTV (for the time being). My CW channel is still being broadcast (WLIW in NY). What market are you in?

I actually liked this show and all the crazy characters. I have to watch this, Riverdale, Nancy Drew and In the Dark online since DirecTV removed the CW channel.

Kinda had a feeling about this one. They gave it plenty of chances, it just didn't get the audience it needed.

If the CW gave it the Axe, that alone should tell you something. CW hardly cancels anything these days.

Didn't get a chance? Lets see...
1. Main character introduced on an existing successful show? Check.
2. Established character moved from said successful show to this new show to try to carry over an existing fan base? Check.
3. Show given a full season, not cancelled after a few episodes like some shows? Check.
Yeah, sounds like it got a pretty damn good chance. Way better chance than most. To say this show didn't get a fair chance is insane.

With it being attached with Riverdale, I honestly thought it would run more seasons. I didn't care for it myself. It's as if Lucy Hale can't catch a break. PLL was her peak.
