The sci-fi drama will return in 2021.

Canal+ has announced that War of the Worlds will be returning for a second season. While there have been unofficial reports of a renewal in recent months, we now have confirmation that the acclaimed sci-fi drama will indeed be coming back for more.
Not to be confused with the 2019 BBC miniseries of the same name that was released around the same time, this version is a co-production between Fox Networks Group and France's Canal+. Its 8-episode first season aired on Epix in the US earlier this year and will likely return to the network for Season 2.
A reimagining of H.G. Wells' classic novel, War of the Worlds begins with astronomers in present-day Europe detecting a peculiar transmission from another galaxy. It's not long before intelligent extra-terrestrial life is descending on Earth and quickly wiping out most of mankind with devastating attacks, leaving only pockets of humanity in a deserted world. As the invaders hunt and kill the survivors, those alive are left asking who the attackers and what they really want.

I watched this show and would recommend it, don't take your eyes of the TV as you will miss some good parts. Watch till the end.
Glad season 2 is now going to be done can't wait.
If you want another good series from the same makers try The Tunnel

I saw this on epix. It was a interesting take of the story , however the bodies never rotted , a week in the sun and bloated stinking things would be there, we had a case in the colorado springs, where they found this 16 year old girl and they said she was 300 pounds but she was around 110 less gas, they caught the killers too, ,it is not a big deal that the bodies look fresh though, but you can see budget wise why they didn't.

Canal+ is a Canadian network. Epix was rerunning the series in the US.

What the heck is Canal+? Is it a channel? Is it a streaming service? Where do I find it?

I enjoyed the show. It was definitely a slower burn type of show. Not a lot of battles with aliens. Lots of character development and maybe a bit too much at times without enough answers. But it was good enough for me to watch a second season.
Now if EPIX would only renew Get Shorty.
