The veteran comedy scores an expected back-order.
October 23, 2020
ABC announced today that six additional episodes have been ordered for the seventh season of Black-ish, which premiered this past Wednesday. The top-up is no surprise, as the long-running comedy has yet to air a season less than 23 episodes in length.
The extra episodes ordered today bring the show's Season 7 total to 21 episodes, but there is a potential that a few more could still be added as the season progresses.
Known to incorporate storylines related to real-world issues based on current events pertaining to African-Americans, the half-hour series continues to draw critical acclaim - including picking up multiple awards from the NAACP Image Awards. The show is ABC's second-longest running comedy currently on the air, and is nearing the 150-episode milestone.
Black-ish follows patriarch Andre 'Dre' Johnson, who has a beautiful wife, a job he loves, and four kids. They all live in a nice colonial home in the suburbs, but Dre wonders if success has brought too much assimilation to his African-American family.

For as long as this show has ran, good news for it's audience. I'm not a fan of the show but when the channel has been left on it, I find myself laughing and enjoying it, so I do see why it has its audience. It's really not a bad show. Congrats on the Top Up.

MoeB, that's not how it works. If you are a citizen of the US he is your leader, plain and simple. If you don't understand that, then read the Constitution. Everything you say is right out of the liberal handbook.

The moderator of this board sucks. The comments aren't even about the show anymore.

@ Moe is confused. He thinks this is a political board and we care what he thinks. Wrong on both counts.

@Scott - When I referenced you did I say anything about color? I just simply wrote to you that if you don't like it don't watch it. But apparently you like to watch shows that you feel have bad stories and acting. And then later complain about it. You're right it is your choice. Stupid as hell but your choice. So just because you claim it's not about color for you. You already know that for the other people commenting negatively it is.
@MAGA - You're right no one should have a voice except you and your kind. That makes sense.
@BeoM - He isn't my leader or anyone else. But since I didn't make a choice I can't complain. My leaders do what's right, treat ALL people with dignity, and take RESPONSIBILITY. Because that's what a leader does. They don't sit around saying it's not their fault and cry when they feel they aren't being treated the same way as others.

You keep saying "your leader", if you live in the US the President is your leader too..

This show isn’t the greatest but it’s much better than a lot of comedies on TV. I’m sure that some of the people that hate this show are either racist or find it uncomfortable to discuss their privilege in a negative light. To those people I say waaaaah waaaah. Poor baby. I will continue to support the show just to piss you off. 4 more years, 4 more years.....of Black-ish.

Let's renew all liberal left diverse shows and cancel everything else! This is no surprise.

@ Moe - Nothing to do with color. Your attempts at making such failed as usual. Just bad stories and bad acting. I did not stop watching. Anyone else is welcome to watch or not watch and I am welcome to comment on the show. Stop trying to make it more than it is.

Like ALWAYS, he's allowed to antagonize and comment anything he wants. Must be nice to be a S-F-D.
