It is being reported that America's Most Wanted is coming back to television after an eight-year absence. After rumors of the show's return circulated in 2020, it looks like Fox is now eying a March comeback for the veteran reality series.

One of the shows that is credited for bringing reality television to the mainstream, America's Most Wanted premiered in 1988 with the goal of profiling criminals who are currently on the FBI's Most Wanted list and bringing them to justice. Fox aired the series until its cancellation in 2011. Lifetime stepped in with an attempt to continue the show shortly after, but it only lasted about a year until being cancelled once again.

The new iteration of America's Most Wanted will be hosted by Emmy Award-winning journalist Elizabeth Vargas and will utilize advances in technology as well as social media to further assist their efforts.
