Syfy announced today that Resident Alien has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes with three episodes remaining in the dramedy's freshman run, which has been enjoying a solid debut outing.
Since its January premiere, the hour-long series has been garnering favorable reviews and healthy ratings. Its first season has been the most-watched new cable drama in the last year, according to the network.
Based on the Dark Horse comic, the series follows an alien named Harry that has crash landed on Earth with a mission to kill all humans. He decides to pass himself off as a small-town doctor to mix in among the people, but things get tricky when he gets pulled into solving a local murder and realizes he needs to assimilate further into his new surroundings. As he does this, Harry starts to wrestle with the moral dilemma of his mission and begins wondering if humans might be worth saving.
Look for Season 2 of Resident Alien in 2022. In the meantime, new episodes are airing Wednesday nights, with the season finale slated for March 31.

I like it. I think Andy Tudyk is highly underrated. I could do without the whole Asta backstory and the hidden adoption and all that.. but that's minor.

Has the town and his girlfriend noticed his fly is open yet? At least the dead doctor’s wife was a little suspicious. No brainer: these people are almost cute but not worth saving.
