The cable dramedy will return for Season 2.

Syfy announced today that Resident Alien has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes with three episodes remaining in the dramedy's freshman run, which has been enjoying a solid debut outing.
Since its January premiere, the hour-long series has been garnering favorable reviews and healthy ratings. Its first season has been the most-watched new cable drama in the last year, according to the network.
Based on the Dark Horse comic, the series follows an alien named Harry that has crash landed on Earth with a mission to kill all humans. He decides to pass himself off as a small-town doctor to mix in among the people, but things get tricky when he gets pulled into solving a local murder and realizes he needs to assimilate further into his new surroundings. As he does this, Harry starts to wrestle with the moral dilemma of his mission and begins wondering if humans might be worth saving.
Look for Season 2 of Resident Alien in 2022. In the meantime, new episodes are airing Wednesday nights, with the season finale slated for March 31.

Alan Tudyk was awesome in the early movie Knight's Tale.
Within 2 point 5 episodes, he won the hearts and minds of everyone wondering "how do you reinvent" alien in a body genre movie/television shows.

Excellent show! Alan Tudyk is perfect in the role. So glad that they renewed it. I look forward to it every week. My new favorite show.

Honestly didn’t see this coming after I heard about it I thought it would be canceled so I steered clear now that they have renewed I may take a look

Amazing news!!! This is one of the best new shows of the year. The entire cast is amazing and the story lines keep you guessing and laughing. I always seem to fall victim of loving a new, great show only to see it cancelled after only 1 season so I'm grateful that the SyFy channel made the right call in renewing this show.

Great News! And HBD *50* to Alan Tudyk! Agreed, @asdasdasdad - he is underrated - Firefly, Suburgatory, Pastor Veal on Arrested Development, and tons of other acting and voiceover! He was very funny in an old 2-part episode of Strangers With Candy as Father: "Blank Stare". It had comedic parodies from the very dramatic / suspense movie Split Image (1982).

Fantastic. Had high expectations and it is even better than expected. Glad it is getting enough hype and ratings to get a second season.
