No Season 3 for the crime drama.

It is being reported that Fox has cancelled Prodigal Son after two seasons. The sad news comes two weeks ahead of the crime drama's May 18 sophomore finale, which will now serve as its series ender.
The show stars Tom Payne as Malcolm Bright, a criminal psychologist with a special gift of knowing how the minds of killers work. This is because in the 1990s, his father, played by Michael Sheen, was a notorious serial killer known as "The Surgeon". Malcolm uses his ability to help the NYPD solve crimes and stop killers, all while dealing with his manipulative mother , played by Bellamy Young, and homicidal father, who is still looking to bond with his prodigal son.
The cancellation of Prodigal Son does not come as a complete surprise, as the show struggled to draw a sizeable audience even back in Season 1. Considered on the bubble at the time, it was the network's last series of 2020 to earn a pickup. As its numbers fell further in Season 2, Fox ultimately could not justify extending its run any further.

Again for people that don't understand. A show actually making it on air IS giving it a chance. Maybe it's millennials and younger that don't understand this. Most of you should be asking yourselves if the show was that good, why did it get cancelled. You can post all the excuses you want, at the end of the day....it wasn't that good. But people are allowed to like bad tv shows.

Amazing keeping horrible shows on your network seems to be the norm. But something different and intriguing...gone. Put another mind numbing reality show on. Pathetic I wish I made the salaries network executives made to make uneducated decisions.

Couldn't get past season 1. The on-off light switch behavior from highly talented to bat-shirt crazy was just too out there for me. No boss in their right mind would keep someone like that around.

I really like this show and I've always suspected that Malcom had dissociative identity disorder and the immediate family are all personalities working in the system, but I guess we'll never know. So sad!

As long as there are other networks there's a chance the show could be picked up but I doubt it considering the low viewership. Going to enjoy the last two episodes then say farewell. Only the good shows die young.

Typical Fox move. Produce a good show with interesting characters then cancel it. Makes you not want to invest in Fox programming.
