The veteran dramedy will air its series finale later this month.
July 9, 2021
There will be no Season 8 for Good Witch. Hallmark Channel announced today that the long-running dramedy will be coming to an end after its current seventh season. The news comes two weeks ahead of its season finale, which will now act as its series ender.
The show has been a solid performer for the cable network since its premiere in 2015, with viewership staying more or less consistent over the course of its run. The show regularly ranks as Hallmark Channel's top primetime series.
Good Witch stars Catherine Bell as Cassie Nightingale, Middleton's favorite enchantress who shares a special intuition with her teenage daughter. When Dr. Sam Radford and his son arrive in town, they are immediately taken by their spellbinding new neighbors. Unfortunately Sam and Cassie do not see eye to eye, but Cassie uses her signature charm to try and bring everybody together.

I was so sad to see this news. I think it is also a shame that they did not give the show a proper ending. After being on for Seven Seasons, the show deserved a proper send-off. The fans deserved a proper send-off. Hallmark really drop the ball on this one!

Such a disappointment...The cast and crew deserved better than what Hallmark Channel did to them. "Good Witch" fans deserved better.

Like George's Girl mentioned I saw an interview w/Catherine Bell excited this season had more "real" magic and a LGBTQ romance for Joy and a new show runner who added more "campy" fun but the new CEO of Crown Media Family Networks, Wonya Lucas, has been doing some major cost-cutting which led to layoffs and big changes like cancelling Home and Family, Bubbly Sesh and now Good Witch - love it or hate it Hallmark is changing

Cancelled, really? I can't believe, yet again, a strong female lead cast show is thrown aside, for what? A stupid reality show, a game show? Very disappointing!

My wife and I watched the show and enjoyed it
Until this season. We only watched one episode before we called it quits

If you don't know by now ALOT of shows get cancelled abruptly its part of it in TV land. I also think the the leash is shorter now on everything of quality TRASH stuff lasts decades its sad. I still have faith in Hallmark to do another quality show because they are last hope for family quality stuff, I'd like to thank Cast and Crew for Good Witch for 7 yrs of quality work

This was one of my favorite shows to watch each year and was the one my partner and I always watched together because it constantly made us feel better about this world after each episode.
Yes, this season felt very different, with very different venues and material, including actually showing acts of magic when all other seasons were more insinuating it. I’d say this season was also the first time I felt it’s plot had a darker side. Regardless, we remained dedicated and have been since the very first movie all those years ago.
Honestly, this show on Hallmark was the only reason left why I still had DirectTV because each season only streamed a year later on Netflix. Now, I can finally unplug and go full streaming. Sadly, this past year saw the cancellation of six of the shows I watched. I’ve grown so weary of that but I am thankful at least here for all the years, movies, and cast of a show that made a difference in this world and my life through positivity.
Thank you Good Witch.

Yes - There is a difference between "Cancelled" and "Ending" but Good Witch WAS CANCELLED by Hallmark blindsiding the cast & crew. They also hired a new showrunner this season changing the show's vibe which makes me wonder if the execs were already having some type of issue with the show. I guess it is cheaper for Hallmark to run syndicated Golden Girls and Reba on a loop then to keep an original show that actually drew viewers in, holding hope that another platform like Netflix will re-start production but who knows ...so disappointed in Hallmark

Sad to see this go. Its nice to have quality TV shows. Maybe we still get movies. Thank you for great years. One thing though is what killed this season was 90% relationships 10% of what show was about in the beginning and this MO abruptly ends many shows imo.
