'All Rise' Revived For Season 3 By OWN

The legal drama will be back in 2022.

OWN announced today that All Rise is being revived for a third season. The news comes four months after the legal drama was cancelled at its original network, CBS. Word is that 20 new episodes have been ordered for a return sometime next year.

The series premiered in 2019 and was a decent performer over the course of its run. However it was hit with behind-the-scenes controversy about a year ago when five writers reportedly left the show due to actions of showrunner Greg Spottiswood, who was subsequently fired.

All Rise follows the chaotic, but hopeful, lives of the judges, prosecutors, and public defenders at a Los Angeles courthouse as they work with clerks, bailiffs, and police to ensure justice is served to the city's people amidst a flawed legal process.

Then go watch Tim Allen or someone else. No one is forcing you to watch television. Go read a book or watch a movie from the 1950s.

I'm actually surprised CBS All Access didn't just move it to streaming. They don't have that much content other than Star Trek.

If the show is "too woke" for you. Don't watch. It's the same reason I don't watch shows. Don't like them? I won't watch. It's why I haven't watched a lot of the CW superhero shows for YEARS. But that's more about bad quality than any perceived political "agenda." A lot of you use the word "woke" so much that it loses any and all meaning and just becomes secondhand for "show I don't like."

I personally think this show didn't need to come back. They gave it a nice sendoff. I feel like the stories were really done.

I actually enjoyed the show and when I say things like "Wu Flu," I do so because I'm woefully ignorant at times. COVID has hurt my family, but whenever I can I like to pretend it hasn't; and that the Pandemic across the globe isn't real. I'm unvaccinated, unafraid, and unashamed. Good for OWN.

I watched Season 1 and enjoyed it. I did not get around to S2 and then found out it was canceled. I will go back and watch.
