CBS announced today that NCIS: Hawai'i has been given a full season order. The good news reflects the drama's strong start through its first three episodes, which have averaged over 5 million viewers in the 10:00pm time slot on Monday nights.
The third spin-off of the 'NCIS' franchise, the series follows Special Agent Jane Tennant, who is the first female in charge of NCIS Pearl Harbor. She and her skilled team of mainland transplants and knowledgeable locals focus on investigating high-stakes crimes involving military personnel, national security, and the mysteries of the island itself.

I think CBS produced this series simply because filming on location in Hawai'i is very expensive and it helps to have two series filming there to reduce the production and backroom overhead costs. They came up with this one after Five-0 shut down.

Funny how your go-to is to assume it's because the lead is female
or that it actually that it "tells" you anything about me and has you assuming a tv show makes me "mad".
I've no problem with female led shows, unless it's done badly - which this is done quite badly. I didn't decide that over the course of an episode or less either, I watched 3 of them before I made my decision regarding it.
As for wokeness, it embraced the hallmarks me, but if it didn't set off your meter, that's cool. I'm so tired of it being thrown in my face, I may be over-sensitive to it now.
