The CG-animated series will be back for Season 2.
November 8, 2021
Paramount+ announced today that Star Trek: Prodigy has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes just two episodes into the CG-animated series' freshman run, which has been garnering generally high praise so far.
The show follows a group of six young alien outcasts who must figure out how to work together while navigating towards the Alpha Quadrant in search of a better future. This motley crew know nothing about the ship they have commandeered, but their adventures will introduce them to Starfleet and the ideals it represents.
The first half of Star Trek: Prodigy continues through November 18 before taking a midseason break until January 6. Season 2 will likely be released in 2023.

I like this show more than lower decks.Bujold? You got to be kidding, have you seen the footage with her? Horrible Janeway portrayal. Glad we’re getting a second season.

Very much a kids show. And on that level it is good.

I saw the pilot and it's not my kind of show. Not calling it bad though. I hope it will bring young viewers into the Star Trek universe.

For this, I think Geneviève Bujold should have gotten the Janeway role she gave up many years ago now and Kate Mulgrew was brought in. The TV production schedule then was too much for Bujold but starring in a cartoon has got to be easy money, even in your seventies.
