HBO Max announced today that Search Party will be coming to an end after its upcoming fifth season. The news arrives nine months after the dark comedy was renewed for Season 5, with the streaming service confirming that its now-final run will debut early next year.
The critically acclaimed series has been at its new home on HBO Max since Season 3, moving there from TBS last year after a two-year break.
Search Party follows a young woman who learns that a college acquaintance of hers has gone missing. Despite a personal connection to the girl, she enlists her friends to help investigate the mysterious disappearance. But it isn't very long before the bumbling sleuths become entangled in a plot more sinister than they were prepared for.
The fifth and final season of Search Party premieres on January 7.

I loved this show from it's TBS roots, to where it now resides on HBO MAX. Season four was weakest link. I'm glad it's going to get a proper sendoff.

Honestly.. should have ended at season 3. TBS was smart there. The story played out and it was done.. they HBO has padded apparently 2 more seasons out of it.. but season 4 was rather drab. I don't have high hopes for season 5.

I’ve only watched the pilot so far but I liked it and definitely plan on continuing. Glad to hear it’s getting a proper ending
