The streaming drama will return for Season 2.
February 1, 2022
Paramount+ announced today that Mayor of Kingstown has been renewed for a second season. The good news comes less than a month after the drama wrapped its 10-episode freshman run, which ranked as the streaming service's second-most-watched original show despite a mixed reception from critics.
The series follows the McLusky family, who are power brokers in the business of incarceration, running for-profit prisons in Kingstown, Michigan. It is the only thriving industry in a town with a history of systemic racism, inequality, and corruption. Together they attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.

Brilliant acting in a gritty, fast-paced drama. The subtle scenes mixed with unexpected actions is well-done. Hope Season 3 is happening!

Glad to hear it's getting another season. We were really looking forward to watching this show after seeing the trailer. It looked really good in the trailer and the wife and I like Kyle Chandler so we thought this would definitely be great. Loved him on Bloodline and he's a really great actor. We were so bummed out when they killed him off in the first episode. I didn't even want to watch after that but gave it a chance. It's not a really great show, but still think it's a good watchable show. We'll be tuning into season 2 and see how it goes. Still much better than a lot of the crap that's out there.

I could only take about three episodes of this. First there was the head-fake about the lead, and then the stories were just so fake.

I thought it was good, but not great. I'll watch season 2 though to see where it goes.

Yes! Thoroughly enjoyed S1, can't wait to see where they take S2.
