The medical drama will finish its run with 13 final episodes.
March 14, 2022
It is being reported that New Amsterdam will be coming to an end on NBC after five seasons. Currently airing Season 4, the medical drama received a rare three-season pickup back in early 2020 during its sophomore run that will take it to Season 5.
The series premiered in 2018 as one of the top-rated new shows among the freshman class. While its viewership has fallen off quite a bit since then, it still garners decent ratings in its regular Tuesday night time slot.
New Amsterdam stars Ryan Eggold in his first lead role in a TV series since playing Tom Keen on 'The Blacklist' and its failed spin-off, 'The Blacklist: Redemption'. Eggold stars as Max Goodwin, a brilliant doctor who is New Amsterdam Hospital's newest medical director. Wanting to disrupt the status quo, he sets out to bypass bureaucracy and focus on providing patients with exceptional care while dealing with his share of problems in his personal life.
13 final episodes have been ordered to conclude the show's story during the 2022-2023 season. It will be its lowest episode count yet, bringing its total to 92 - just shy of the 100-episode milestone. For now, new Season 4 episodes are airing Tuesdays, with the season finale scheduled to air on May 24.

I really have found that the acting and story line on this show has been quite good. Not a fan of reality-based shows ,I am sorry that we are loosing a show of quality to make room for material that is simply not appealing. This show was one of the reasons I watched this channel or well back to the role of channel surfing.

'NA'is a great show with a very nice story line, love angel etc. But then there are lots of gaps...like they bring Dr Vicky Kapoor's son Rohan in one episode and then he vanishes.what was the point in bringing him back, if they were not going to continue him in the future episode!!!! Dr Vicky Kapoor and his son in NA, they both were very matured actors. They killed Vicky Kapoor as he moved to India but why kill his son Rohan's character. He was doing pretty good job!!

Am I missing something? I haven’t noticed anything “woke” about it.

I can't believe NA is coming to an end. This is one of my favorite shows despite the gaps and missing weeks we have missed. Please re-consider and extend the contract!!

‘N A’ is still a great show, the only problem I found was the continuous gaps in the show’s airings that is problematic for most shows airing on tv these days (it is something I don’t understand at all)
I am so disappointed that ‘N A’ is coming to an end.
Hopefully the amazing cast, will all find even better projects and turn up on our t v screens(sadly I don’t have a budget / income that allows me Netflix, Prime, etc:) very soon.

Part of the reason for the drop in ratings is the way the story line went. The story line of hiring unscrupulous new medical director tainted the jest of the original story plot. The other reason is the variation on when the show airs...some weeks it's on and some not...that is why you loose viewers.
