'Match Game' Cancelled By ABC

The game show will not return for Season 6.

It is being reported that ABC has cancelled Match Game after five seasons. The revived game show aired its final episode last summer, though it has been out of production since early 2020.

Match Game originated back in 1962, going on to air numerous revivals over the decades that followed. This latest update, hosted by Alec Baldwin, premiered in 2016 and was a decent performer for the network during the summer months.

In the show, four contestants compete for a $25,000 grand prize by attempting to match the answers of six celebrities in fill-in-the-blank questions.

Sorry to see this one go. It was so entertaining. If hosts is an issue, ABC, Craig Ferguson is available.

Pat that's wrong. Look at all the other shows that were cancelled on the same day as well - ABC just cancelled a bunch of their game shows. Nothing to do with Baldwin.

Good show I think a lot of the issues were that it pushed the limit of humor some people couldn't handle that so instead of just not watching they kept complaining and it got canceled I looked forward to this show each week

This show was only cancelled because of what happened on alec baldwins movie set. A horrible tragedy for sure. I do think his career is sunk maybe.

I really liked this show. Ah well, it was fun while it lasted. Maybe it will return as a special or in syndication.
