No Season 5 for the Tracy Morgan comedy.
April 27, 2022
It is being reported that TBS has cancelled The Last O.G. after four seasons. It has been four months since the comedy wrapped its now-final run, with its episode on December 21 serving as its series-finale. While the series has been one of TBS' top comedies since its debut in 2018, the news comes as the cable network is shifting away from scripted content going forward.
The Last O.G. marked Tracy Morgan's first role as a television series regular since his 2014 car accident that left him severely injured. He stars in the show as an ex-con named Tray, who is shocked at the changes the world has gone through since he was released on good behavior. Not only has his Brooklyn neighborhood been gentrified, but his former girlfriend is now married to a successful man who is helping to raise the twins he never knew existed. Not having any money to support himself or his children, Tray reverts to the skills he picked up while incarcerated in order to make ends meet while trying to acclimate to his new reality.

Thing is.. for spending years in prison, during the technological revolution..... they really NEVER played up the "lost in time" aspect of the storyline. There were SO many opportunities for the "fish out of water" storylines they never explored. Big mistake was having 2 kings of young "tween" age which meant he couldn't have spent more than 10-15 years in prison. Get rid of the kinds and imagine 25 years... 1990-2015... then there's a lot of new technology to get lost in. Just poor planing.. and Morgan, well, I've never found him that funny in himself. His "comedy" has always been "reactionary". He NEEDS a good comedian to play off, otherwise he's lost. He had others on SNL and Tina Fay on 30 Rock.... he had no one here. And it showed.

Oh man, kinda disappointed... I didn't love the og, but was a pretty good dramadey. I loved him in 30 rock, but doesn't have the morgan additude in og. Also he should do a muti cam sitcom next or move on to movies!!!
Huh?

They are cancelling these highly rated shows and replacing them with ''reality'' shows and they wonder why people are getting rid of their cable.
the news comes as the cable network is shifting away from scripted content going forward.
Gee I wonder what ''reality'' show is going to replace this.
