TBS announced today that The Last O.G. has been picked up for a second season. The renewal comes on the heels of a successful launch of the new comedy earlier this month, with praise being received from audiences and critics alike.

The show's positive reception is punctuated by the fact that its premiere episode ranks as the cable network's biggest comedy premiere since 2015. With its first three episodes finding a multiplatform audience of almost 25 million viewers, the show is also the #1 cable comedy so far in 2018.

The Last O.G. marks Tracy Morgan's first role as television series regular since his 2014 car accident that left him severely injured. He stars in the show as an ex-con named Tray, who is shocked at the changes the world has gone through since he was released on good behavior. Not only has his Brooklyn neighborhood been gentrified, but his former girlfriend, played by Tiffany Haddish, is now married to a successful man who is helping to raise the twins he never knew existed. Not having any money to support himself or his children, Tray reverts to the skills he picked up while incarcerated in order to make ends meet while trying to acclimate to his new reality.

Look for Season 2 of The Last O.G. sometime in 2019.
