No Season 3 for the reimagined sitcom.
May 4, 2022
It is being reported that Peacock has cancelled Saved by the Bell after two seasons. Coming five months after the comedy's sophomore run, the news is somewhat surprising as the show appeared to be performing well for the streaming service.
The half-hour series premiered in late 2020 and was renewed within two months of its release, with Peacock touting that it was its top original series. Actual viewership numbers, however, are unknown. Critically, the show faired reasonably well, and even took home a 2022 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
A reimagining of the beloved 1990s sitcom, Saved by the Bell follows a new group of students at Bayside High, which recently integrated some new students after California governor Zack Morris closed a bunch of underfunded high schools. This influx of new students gives the privileged Bayside kids a much-needed reality check.

@Truff The New Class did not fail - it lasted for seven seasons. It outlasted the original, even if you include the College Years.

I was a fan of the original shows, even the college years, so I watched the first few minutes just to see what the old characters were up to and was willing to give it a chance if it hooked me in. Once the black girl did the Zach Morris "time out" thingy, I knew this would be full of agenda crap. So The Plopster promptly shut it off. I did enjoy that first few minutes, especially Zach's governor campaign slogan of "Look how hot my wife is, vote for me!" But i couldn't deal with the rest. No surprised it was axed.

This show was a modernization of a Chessy 90s show on a new streaming service. It was gonna fail for not being cheesy and not having the original cast at the same age. The SAME reasons the next class failed.
IT did NOT. fail for being "woke." The original show had females in high school, something people on this site probably call woke, and it did okay. Before you complain a show is woke ask if yourself if your just to far right.

About time it was cancelled, not sure how iCarly is getting renewed and they cancel good shows like Good Girls.
This saved by the bell haft of the kids were in their 20's playing teens. The one I think played the Trans girl has been in 3 shows all cancelled, she gave me the creeps. I couldn't watch this reboot.
CYA until the next reboot maybe Lizzie McGuire reboot will last lol or they could do a reboot of Duke of Hazards or Facts of Life, Growing Pains lol. Just kidding.

Not surprised. I didn't know it got 2 seasons. Wish they would stop trying to resurrect old shows. Never works out.

You're whining that it was dumb to bring back a kids' show, but then also claiming it was "too woke." Did you not watch the original show? That's what it was back then, too. It was all about the kids learning lessons to not be sexist, or not be racist. Now granted, it was cringey and bad even by 80s standards, but that was what it was.
Anyone crying about "today's shows being too woke" has been living in a bubble for the last 40 years.

The ONLY reason ANYONE liked the original series is because they were under the age of 11 when it originally aired. Adults at the time considered the original series a "kids show" because the writing and acting were exceptionally amateur and only children could overlook how terrible it was. To try and revive the same D-grade series in hopes that now a more mature audience will be nostalgic enough to watch the same D-grade storylines is just outright stupid and a waste of money.
This holds true for every single one of the D-grade series revivals... full house, punky brewster, saved by the bell, small wonder.. they were all very, very, very dumb originally - and written for children. The ONLY reason any of the originals succeeded was because the internet did not yet exist.

I pretty much grew up watching saved by the bell and I am only couple years younger than Mark Paul. It is very disappointing to see the show being canceled. However I agree with previous comment that the show was infested with WOKE brain wash.
They could have done an amazing show.

Not surprised. I watched season 1 - I laughed maybe twice, but I gave it a fair shot. I was a kid during the original, so I'm their target fanbase but they really missed the mark. It's a shame because it could have been an entertaining show.
