@Alice, well said. I personally have no interest in the show.And as far as criticism goes for the most part it's up in the air. People will accept it for what it is. But even shows focused primality on race that aren't specific to the race in the title the show is often scored lower here than most websites. It's almost as if there is a biased towards that entire minority of a community. Can't be a coincidence that almost every black show listed on this website is barely holding a 3.0 of 5.0 rating. Some shows that are highly rated on other websites are struggling to hold like a 2.0 on this website. Even ignoring the ratings some of the series are actually good. I can't speak to this series on that. But there is surely a based on here. And you're 100% right in your initial statement @Alice.

Q: Would a juxtaposed "A White Lady Sketch Show" be considered racist?
A: Probably.

@Alice
If a show is going to be based specifically on race (which this is), and they make it clear that it is (which they did), then it's fair game for criticism on that particular topic. Just because you don't like it, doesn't make it "asinine."
If they don't want people to comment on the racial (racist) makeup of a show, maybe don't make it a central focus of the show.
I also find it racist to believe a particular group of people can't handle criticism of the topic THEY created.

Hey ChrisW remember, different strokes for different folks. I know plenty of people who enjoy this series Black, Asian, White (like myself), etc. not everyone finds the same things funny and that’s ok, just don’t watch this one if you don’t like. You don’t have to attack an entire community of people over one show that many people enjoy, that’s why no one takes people like you seriously even though you somehow think the majority of people have asinine thoughts like that

Awesome news! Great show with a real knack for spotting talent! So happy that Quinta Brunson has gotten so big since her appearances on the show. And Issa Rae is such a wonderful writer and actor. She can write complex, flawed (but still funny) characters you care about on Insecure but then go really silly on a sketch comedy like this.

I did not like this at first but watched the last season and it was fun in a silly kind of way.

It's sad the black community props up mediocrity just to claim something as theirs. There's enough talent out there to recruit, yet it's always the least talented that get front-and-center. And then they wonder why no one takes them seriously.
