Syfy announced today that Resident Alien has been picked up for a third season. The good news comes midway through the dramedy's sophomore run, which is slated to return from its midseason break on August 10.
The hour-long series premiered in January 2021, garnering favorable reviews and healthy ratings. Its momentum has continued in Season 2, where it currently ranks as one of the 15 most-watched shows on cable.
Based on the Dark Horse comic, Resident Alien follows an alien named Harry that has crash landed on Earth with a mission to kill all humans. He decides to pass himself off as a small-town doctor to mix in among the people, but things get tricky when he gets pulled into solving a local murder and realizes he needs to assimilate further into his new surroundings. As he does this, Harry starts to wrestle with the moral dilemma of his mission and begins wondering if humans might be worth saving.
Look for Season 3 of Resident Alien in 2023.

Similar situation with illegal US residents. That's been happening for decades and will continue to happen. There are models predicting that the current numbers will double by 2065. But I guess that'll be on Biden too.
Anyways, why I came to this page initially was to say I'm happy about this renewal! Great show and I'm looking forward to see where it goes next.
