Syfy announced today that Resident Alien has been picked up for a third season. The good news comes midway through the dramedy's sophomore run, which is slated to return from its midseason break on August 10.
The hour-long series premiered in January 2021, garnering favorable reviews and healthy ratings. Its momentum has continued in Season 2, where it currently ranks as one of the 15 most-watched shows on cable.
Based on the Dark Horse comic, Resident Alien follows an alien named Harry that has crash landed on Earth with a mission to kill all humans. He decides to pass himself off as a small-town doctor to mix in among the people, but things get tricky when he gets pulled into solving a local murder and realizes he needs to assimilate further into his new surroundings. As he does this, Harry starts to wrestle with the moral dilemma of his mission and begins wondering if humans might be worth saving.
Look for Season 3 of Resident Alien in 2023.

I love this show! Despite the not so playful banter on here, I will continue to love it (hopefully). It's on a planned hiatus, just delayed a few extra weeks which tends to happen at syfy. It also has nothing to do with the politics of immigration or inflation, though it has its dynamics and allegories. I laugh every episode and cry at se.

It is fiction. Thank you to the site for information. And thank you to some posters for ther serious lack of information. It is a cute show with humor. It is fiction. Stop clutching your pearls.

Love this site for information. And the lack of information by posters is humourous as well. It's a funny show dealing with nothing but a plot written by others, and having no real connection to reality. Fiction. But, clutch pearls as you may.

Well, Steve is right. There are a million new illegals in the country. Nothing funny about that. This show, however, very funny

Jim, it is more likely just a scheduled break. A lot of shows these days release seasons in two parts, naming them like 2A & 2B, for example.
This season of Resident Alien is 16 episodes, so there are still another eight starting in August.
Huh?
