Netflix announced today that Cobra Kai has been renewed for Season 6, which will be its last. The news was accompanied by a teaser trailer along with a heartfelt message to fans from creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg, promising the show's final season will be its biggest yet.
The half-hour series premiered in 2018 on YouTube Premium, where it quickly became one of its strongest-performing originals. But its time there was limited, as the platform moved away from scripted fare after two seasons. Netflix saw a golden opportunity and stepped in for Season 3, and the move has more than paid off, as Cobra Kai has become one of its most-popular shows.
Serving as a follow-up to 'The Karate Kid' film series, Cobra Kai is set 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. Still haunted by his past, Johnny Lawrence looks for redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo. But his old rivalry with Daniel LaRusso is reignited when their lives become intertwined with the up-and-coming generation of karate kids.

hope to high all sid and marty inventions... that there are no kobra kai spinoffs.
This is the perfect open and close. Sure we might not get a few of our most wanted and most obscure cameos.
But this was 6 fricken awesome seasons:
- the hero from the original movies drove great cars, played eighties tapes in those cars, and drank beer. "he didn't get the note about car driving. blow 0.02 and you o.k.."
- lots of teenage kids faught{sp} endlessly. and after karate training, dangerously.
--break one kids back and most everyone goes back to high school as usual
--- but lets focus on the best here @Michael
This one told a story. It was hell-yeah fun.
Two predictions. Robby wins the global tournament, and Creese dies saving Johnny's life proving that he does in fact love him.
