The action thriller will return for a second season.
March 29, 2023
Netflix announced today that The Night Agent has been renewed for Season 2. The news comes less than a week after the action thriller released its 10-episode freshman run. The quick pickup is not a surprise, as the show had a record-breaking opening weekend for the streaming service.
"We're proud to see The Night Agent deliver a breakout performance and become instantly embraced around the world," said Jinny Howe, Netflix's VP of Drama Series. "Shawn Ryan has created a spy thriller sensation that viewers cannot get enough of, with a stellar cast featuring Gabriel Basso, Luciane Buchanan and Hong Chau, and we're here to bring them more of the action and suspense they love."
Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, the series follows low level FBI Agent Peter Sutherland, who mans an emergency hotline for American spies in the basement of the White House. The phone never rings, but when a call comes in from a terrified civilian, Peter must find a way to protect her while working to uncover a dangerous conspiracy that could lead all the way to the Oval Office.
Look for Season 2 of The Night Agent in 2024.

And I am also sad about The Resident being cancelled as well as Blood and Treasure and I also liked Coopers Treasure as well and Good Girls was an all time favorite I wish that the actress who played Beth and the guy who played the drug dealer could have gotten along in real life because I looked forward to watching that show every week):

I actually love this show and will gladly watch it again I’m happy it’s been renewed especially considering they are no longer airing Blacklist or NCIS Los Angeles after this final season. Now they should be cancelling THE ACCUSED I think it’s extremely boring especially with someone new with charges in court every episode the endings always suck and I feel it’s more interesting for someone to want to see more if there’s twist and turns and they follow peoples stories past their court issues it’s just not something that makes me want to see more and other shows should have been renewed in place of this show I don’t see how it’s even renewed I don’t think it will make it long. So many good shows cancelled that I really liked and it really sucks):

This really surprised me. This show has a decent plot idea with some hilariously bad direction, bad writing and generally terrible overall execution.
Seriously, a dead little girl braces her leg when she's laid down. They couldn't have tried another take or gotten a fake body?
If you are detail oriented this show will drive you a bit nuts.

Who's the president? Calling the shots? Or they're not there yet?

Great show. Great cast. Makes sense that this could go on for multiple seasons.
