Peacock announced today that the upcoming fifth season of Love Island USA will premiere this summer on July 18. The dating series moved to the streaming service from original network CBS last year. At that time it received a two-season renewal for Seasons 4 and 5.

For Season 5 the show is returning abroad for the first time since its freshman run, heading back to Fiji, where it all began in 2019. Since then, due to the pandemic, the show has filmed stateside. Season 2 was set atop a hotel on the Las Vegas strip, Season 3 took place in Hawaii, and Season 4 was set in Santa Barbara, California.

Based on the British smash hit, Love Island USA brings a group of single 'Islanders' together in a picturesque villa as they look for love. During their summer of romance, the Islanders pair up when they have a connection and can be voted off when they don't. New singles periodically arrive to stir things up, and viewers can participate by voting on certain events using an app. Eventually one lucky couple is crowned the winner with the chance to take home a cash prize - and possibly love.

Peacock has more 'Love Island' in store for viewers later this year as well. In April the streamer ordered the first-ever spinoff of the series, titled 'Love Island Games.' The new show will premiere this fall and will bring together cross-franchise fan-favorite Islanders from the US, UK, Australia and beyond for another shot at love. They'll compete in a brand-new format that combines romance with reality, competing in both team and couples' challenges while navigating dating, eliminations, recoupling, and new arrivals.
