The prequel series scores an early pickup.

Starz announced today that Power Book III: Raising Kanan has been renewed for a fourth season. It's an early pickup, coming days before the prequel series returns for Season 3, which is scheduled to premiere this Friday on the cable network.
"We're thrilled to continue Kanan Stark's story, and for fans to see how the events of his formative adolescent years continue to mold him into the cold-hearted villain they were first introduced to in Power," said Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming for Starz. "We are quite sure that after viewers see the battle lines being drawn between Raq and Kanan on this epic upcoming third season that they will demand more."
Set in the 1990s, the prequel series follows fifteen-year-old Kanan Stark, who lives in Jamaica, Queens. An intelligent and driven young man, Kanan's world revolves around his mother, who is a cocaine distributor with a network of dealers around the city. She doesn't want her son to follow in her footsteps, but Kanan wants to be just like his mom. He's naive and doesn't understand how the hustle works, which makes their relationship more complicated over time.
Production on Season 4 of Power Book III: Raising Kanan will begin this week in New York. Look for a premiere in 2024.

I have mixed feelings about Raising Kanan. Considering his minor role in the original Power storyline, I struggle to see the appeal of exploring his upbringing. Fiddy’s character, while influential in Tariq’s transformation, doesn’t seem enough to justify four seasons of lackluster acting and a shallow plot. However, Chapters 2 and 4 manage to captivate and keep me engaged, showcasing commendable work overall.

I do not want to argue with you Gregg. Opinions vary. I love Tommy Egan on Power! It is probably hard to write for the funniest and likeable bad guy character in the Power universe. He strangled his girl and the viewers still love him. Again, I love Tommy. Force seems weak. As long as we are both happy it is a good day.

@Jasmine you are saying this is the best spin-off lmao NOT. Not at all, the best spin-off is with Tommy Eagan the Power Book IV: Force one.
I also miss Billions already! Can't wait for their spin-offs, mostly Trillions.

This was easily the most middling of the Power spin-offs.

I'm quite surprised at this, it is by far the weakest of the Power Book shows IMO.
