The prequel series earns another early pickup.

Starz announced today that Power Book III: Raising Kanan has been renewed for a fifth season. It's a very early pickup, coming less than two months after the prequel series finished airing Season 3. The fourth season is currently filming.
"We know that our fans can't get enough of 'Raising Kanan.' As the inevitable evolution of this young man into a killer plays out, we knew we had much more backstory to share in this ever-escalating family saga," said Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming for Starz. "As we continue to expand the storytelling within the Power universe, we're looking forward to how this story may intersect with other Power characters during this prequel era."
Set in the 1990s, the series follows fifteen-year-old Kanan Stark, who lives in Jamaica, Queens. An intelligent and driven young man, Kanan's world revolves around his mother, who is a cocaine distributor with a network of dealers around the city. She doesn't want her son to follow in her footsteps, but Kanan wants to be just like his mom. He's naive and doesn't understand how the hustle works, which makes their relationship more complicated over time.

Then you're not paying attention. There's a multitude of other genres on Starz alone. And....here's the wacky idea...you don't have to watch that network alone. There are multiple networks and places to view a variety of portrayals that range from nerds to action heroes.
Expand your watchlist.
I'm done with you.

This series is my least favorite of the Power shows. Force is still #1 for me. Love Tommy!

.. never stated ONLY black people can aspire to rappers or nefarious professions.. but.. that's the BULK of the portrayal of black people on Starz - rappers or criminals.
wow ok

I guess we'll have to ignore Casino, Goodfellas, Dog Day Afternoon, The Godfather, and every popular movie where people of various ethnicities play criminals. But it's Black people who can only aspire to those roles.
Someone tell Jeffrey Wright he has to go back to playing a Harvard-educated drug pusher in the 1920s! No other roles for you, Jeff.
(Now THAT'S sarcasm)

Best of all the Power spin-offs by far. It does have to come to an end eventually. I would like to see what happens to all the other characters.

just seems like the same shit over and over and over and over and over.. it's a soap opera.. with an R rating.
It's a shame all black people can aspire to are rappers, drug dealers, thieves, and murderers.
