The animated series will conclude its run this fall.

Paramount+ announced today that the upcoming fifth season of Star Trek: Lower Decks will be its last. The animated comedy will conclude its story after a total of 50 episodes when it returns sometime this fall.
"We wanted to let you know that this fall will be the fifth and final season of Star Trek: Lower Decks," said series creator Mike McMahan and executive producer Alex Kurtzman in a note to the fans. "While five seasons of any series these days seems like a miracle, it's no exaggeration to say that every second we've spent making this show has been a dream come true. Our incredible cast, crew and artists have given you everything they have because they love the characters they play, they love the world we've built, and more than anything we all love love love Star Trek. We're excited for the world to see our hilarious fifth season which we're working on right now, and the good news is that all previous episodes will remain on Paramount+ so there is still so much to look forward to as we celebrate the Cerritos crew with a big send-off."
The series is the first animated entry in the franchise in over 40 years; the only other being 1973's 'Star Trek: The Animated Series.' Critics have generally enjoyed the show, noting its comedic approach offers a fun, albeit safe, take on the Star Trek universe.
Star Trek: Lower Decks follows the U.S.S. Cerritos, one of Starfleet's least important ships. Residing in its lower decks are the support crew who strive to keep up with their duties and their social lives while the ship is being hit by any number of anomalies.

On a positive note, it's a great show for rewatching. You notice little Easter eggs all the time!

Kind of a given since some of them started getting promotions.
Lower Decks *is* canon.

Better to end on a high note and a conclusion than on a cliffhanger or after years of declining quality.
I’ll still miss the show, feels like they have at least 2 or 3 more good seasons in them.

OH COME ON. Why do networks stop great shows?
