The Tim Allen comedy will return for a second season.

ABC announced today that Shifting Gears has been renewed for Season 2. The news comes two weeks after the comedy wrapped its 10-episode freshman run. Fans will surely be pleased, as the show's March 19 finale ended with a cliffhanger.
The half-hour series stars Tim Allen as Matt, a stubborn widower who owns a classic car restoration shop in his town. Kat Dennings plays his estranged daughter Riley, who moves into his house with her two children, allowing them to finally reconnect and try to repair their fractured relationship.

It was a slow start for me and I thought it would have been canceled. It's "ok" not must see TV.

It got funnier as the season went on. Pretty good. Hopefully it gets better in season 2.

Great news ! Not the funniest show ( non of them are funny in 2025 ) but i'm having a good time watching this and i'm happy that there will be a season 2
