The comedy won't return for a second season.

It is being reported that Poppa's House has been cancelled by CBS after one season. The news comes ahead of next Monday's freshman finale. While its ratings were lower than other comedies on the network, the show garnered enough viewers to earn it an order for five extra episodes last November.
The series stars Damon Wayans as legendary talk radio host and happily divorced Poppa, who has his point of view challenged at work when a new female co-host is hired, and at home where he finds himself still parenting his adult son, played by his real-life son Damon Wayans Jr, who is a brilliant dreamer trying to pursue his passion while being a responsible father and husband.

Horrible fake comedy. AI written? Bob Hearts Abishola at least seemed real and had heart. Poppa's House sucked. No more Damon Wayans Sr. or Jr.

I do not like this show. I could not watch 2 episodes. I am not a fan of either of the Wayans on the show. The acting was sad. The writing was worse. I usually do not take joy in cancellations, but the commercials made me cringe. I like The Neighborhood, but even that is getting stale. I enjoy repeats more than the new episodes.

This show was bad. I watched the first three episodes and gave up. Why does this cancelation have to be racist TANYA? This show was canceled due to it being bad. Says alot that it was canceled when it follows The Neighborhood.

It was just too much at times, so I understand the cancelation.

I figured they would cancel it. This show actually made me laugh. I guess it's not white enough. Yes I said it. If Damon Wayons had the status of Cedric the Entertainer it would have been renewed with no problem.

Not surprised by this if the ratings were the lowest among the comedies on CBS. Getting a full-season order isn't very hard unless the show utterly fails to find an audience (like the rare times a show is cancelled after only a couple of episodes), but getting a new season is considerably tougher. Makes sense for CBS to roll the dice on a new comedy for next year and hope it does better.
