Showtime announced today that Yellowjackets will be coming to an end after its fourth season. The news comes five months after the drama was picked up for what will now be its final run.
Creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson took to the show's official Instagram account with a message to the fans about their decision to end the show.
"After three incredible seasons, and great consideration, we're excited to announce that we will be bringing the story of Yellowjackets to its twisted conclusion in this fourth and final season," they wrote in the post. "We've always known there would come a point when the story would tell us it wants to end, and it's our belief that our job — our responsibility — is to listen. Telling this emotional, wild, and deeply human story has been a profoundly meaningful experience and a true honor for us, and we're so very grateful to the brilliant cast, crew and writers who have bravely gone on the journey with us to bring it to life. Most of all, we want to thank the fans who have stuck with us through every moment, mystery and meal — the Hive is nothing without you! We can't wait to share the final chapter with you and hope you find it...delicious."
In Yellowjackets, a team of high school girls soccer players were involved in a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness 25 years ago. In present day, we learn about their lives over that time, and how they went from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans. We also see the lives they've attempted to piece back together, proving that the past can never really be left behind and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.

@Bernard ... "Lisa" a bit character.. getting more notoriety merely for being trans than anything she did on the show. I think one of the lesbian's lovers or something. Don't really remember her. Love the logic.. be a trans woman, but a lesbian trans woman.. metal issues?.. nahhhhh, can't be. Body dysmorphia is a REAL mental health issue.

I hope that they end this show in an intelligent way. By the way what trans character is someone talking about. I don’t remember one

I watched 2 episodes. Other than the regrettable cannibalism... i didn't get it. One less show to watch when I'm old.

We have killed off some of the most interesting characters in this drama, I pray the conclusion will wrap up smoothly and answer the few remaining questions. Unfortunately Shana needs to go to jail get killed or just fall off the face of the story. I was disappointed with Natalie's death at the end of Season 1 and season 2 carried on the story quite well, it seems season 3 was a struggle and too many deaths, lets get off the mountain and wrap this world up.

Trans what? Get that shit out of the good shows, no one with half a brain wants to see "representation" of any kind, just good stories with good character development.
This is ending because there's no much to tell, in 3 seasons they have already told us a lot of what happened in the past with the characters and the present day plot line is getting kind of thin with all the "characters going away", it is for the best if they wrap everything up clean and nice or they will get the Lost treatment, all expectation not delivered because they put all those m"mysteries" out there just to disappoint us all at the end.
PD: There's no such thing as trans, just people will mental and emotional issues that need help accepting reality.

I'm disappointed this is ending mainly because the trans representation isn't that explicit.
Maybe I need to watch the show first.
