No Season 3 for the crime drama.
June 2, 2026
It is being reported that NBC has cancelled The Hunting Party after two seasons. The crime drama was the last of the network's current scripted series to find out its fate.
The news does not come as a complete surprise, as the show was left off of NBC's schedule for the 2026-2027 season last month. Word is that producer Universal Television is looking to find it a new home, but the likelihood of that happening is unclear.
The series follows a small team of elite investigators who are tasked with hunting down and capturing some of the most dangerous killers America has ever seen, all of whom have just escaped from a top-secret prison that is not supposed to exist.

F U NBC. This show had great viewing figures on Peacock so why not just make the show for Peacock. I’m hoping Netflix buy it like they bought Manifest. This is gutting. Not watched season 2 yet as I live in the UK and it’s only getting shown in July. I’m still going to watch it. NBC your perfettic.

There is still a tiny glimmer of hope for the fandom. Because the series is fully owned by Universal Television (an in-house studio), they don't have to deal with complex third-party rights. Universal has already announced plans to aggressively shop The Hunting Party to rival networks and streaming platforms. Given its proven track record on Netflix, it wouldn't be completely shocking if another platform decided to rescue the task force and resolve that cliffhanger.
