just picked up this show and watched the complete season in one go. It was very compelling and I cannot understand why it has been cut. I didn't realize before I started watching that the show was discontinued or I wouldn't have watched it at all. So disappointing to cut a good series without a decent conclusion. Isn't anybody interested in broadcasting series 2????? PLEASE!

I've decided not to bother watching any of the "New" Network programing until it becomes established with a complete season or two under it's belt. I'm so sick of getting invested into a show, just to see it cancelled mid-season...or getting just one season, therefore leaving a big open ending ....
I was really disappointed that the Event wasn't given a second season, or a proper conclusion to the season we were given. It would have been interesting to see how the story would develop, it's like just when something is getting good and has me all interested ....that's it....and it's really starting to piss me off....

I tough ,the viewers make the tv business running .
today web sites , home pages and blogs help a lot for questions and exclamations abouth new season o not rating also does . The bad moved to show down a tv show ( serie) with out explains the public with no end or last or any apologises for no more episode , make feel the viewers stupid. They also promises the new season coming soon and some time the exited for see this show again change to forgotten a later you realize what happen with that nice show. And the top a that the put that one season or two on sale on DVD or blue ray even so expensive. The event is 100 times better compared with fallin sky. Hope the bring this back.

I was hoping to find out what happened on the show! Disappointed it was canceled. Almost wish we could read the ending ... It was, again, another great, puzzling show. Disappointed it was cancelled.

Loved this show! So many shows that are really good have been cancelled. Who is making these stupid decisions?

Totally agree with all comments. Networks NEVER give some really good shows a chance to develop their characters. With all the instant gratification going on out there, they want results NOW!!! Also, I have Time Warner and they are continually changing the start times on many shows. That only means when we sit down to watch our favorites and they aren't there, we switch to another channel. Confusing. THE EVENT was a well-written, well-acted series that could have gone a long ways, if they allowed it. But NBC pulled the plug. Little by little, I've weaned myself away from Network TV, and onto cable. But, you know what? Cable stations are no different. They, too, now cancel at the drop of a hat.

I totally agree with Lisa. And the so-called big three or four networks wonder why many individuals are going to cable shows.

It was a sad day in my house when they cancelled The Event. I am thinking it was the last series thast I watch on NBC so I guess there isn't a reason to even show up on my on screen tv guide. DELETE NBC bye bye.
