Created by Aaron Sorkin, The Newsroom chronicles the on-goings at the Atlantis Cable News channel, where the lead anchor and his staff work to put on a news show in the face of obstacles both corporate and commercial.

Very good show, great writing, acting and story lines. Sad it's only 3 seasons!

how does a show this great with so much material in the news ever go off the air...great actors and the greatest writing.

To say "I'm going to miss this program" cannot begin to express my sadness to see it end. The life breathed into the characters by this cast and the compelling writing struck a chord in me as I believe many others. We all have a desire to be Don Quixote in a world that feels consumed by snark and distrust. I feel this program reflected a balanced struggle between what is the right thing to do and what is the easy thing to do. Deep down I believe everyone wants to champion a just cause and The Newsroom inspires me to be valiant, undo wrongs, and bring justice to the world.

Im pissed that we only get three seasons of this, the first season was terrible but the 2 and 3rd are just great ;( Please can we have more? Olivia Munn (Sloan) is such a wonderfully conceived wont see the likes of it again ;(

this is one of the best written shows I've ever seen.. I've never been so impressed with a show.. the characters the stories.. this show make me want to be a better person.. forces me to think about all my values and beliefs. PHENOMINAL!!! BRILLIANT I had written "best show ever" under Scandal and said Suits was second best.. well The Newsroom forces me to change my tune.. this is the BEST SHOW EVER!!! Can't wait for season III!!

On September 3, 2013, Jeff Daniels posted on his Twitter account that the show would return for a third season.

I think Ben has got this forum confused with the Canadian sitcom which is also called The Newsroom.
I'm guessing from your post that you are American which is why you jumped to a conclusion without taking anything else in to consideration first.
