A drama following the origins of the great villains and vigilantes from the Batman universe.

Before there was Batman, there was Gotham - a city teeming with corruption and the spawning ground for some of the world's most iconic villains. This is the city that created the now-infamous Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face and The Joker. It also gave birth to Batman, one of the most well-known superheroes of all time.

Rookie detective James Gordon spends his days and nights fighting crime, trying to peel back the many layers of the city's criminal underworld in an attempt to restore it to the glamorous metropolis he had once known it as. Partnered with legendary cop Harvey Bullock, James stumbles upon Gotham's highest-profile case ever when two local billionaires, Thomas and Marth Wayne, are murdered.

It is at the scene of this crime where James meets the Waynes' intense 12-year-old son, with whom he forms an inexplicable bond. Their lifelong friendship will last them all of their lives, eventually playing a critical role in helping the boy become the caped crusader.

I love Gotham, but I am really bored with this testosterone empowered Barbara. The character is just ridiculous.

This fall 2017 season of Gotham is terrific, glad all the characters are back, love Sofia Falcone, hope she and James have a romance, if he wasn't so obstinate about refusing her help. Penguin is terrific as well as the Penguin-Nygma rivalry. YES< we need PENGUIN as Mayor in NYC.

confusing and out of control script writing......it has gone from the sublime to beyond the ridiculous. If it is going to survive, they have to reign the writers in.

We love this show. Just don't long this long break from ? thru April 24. Why ?. We have to dig for other things to watch and have been watching Seasons 2 and 3 waiting for Gotham to come back. This new thing of taking breaks in the middle of the season stinks. Besides, is not more expensiv to have 2 shows going instead of one. Other stations do this too, not just a Fox but it sucks on every channel. By the time the show comes back you can't remember how it ended unless you watch the reruns like we do. Really stupid programming. Why not just have the primary shows make more episodes like they did in the old days ?

Great show but disappointed that the horrible Nygma is ruining Penguin..Penguin had become a hero and friend of the Gotham Police. Wish our NYC Mayor was as good as Penguin.

Please have PATIENCE fellow Gotham viewers. Gotham is doing an EXCELLENT job of establishing the characters and sub plots. Good series have an average of a 6 season self life.Gotham is playing the long game.Batman will come in due time.

We all want to see Batman the man and this show is taking too long to get there. Plus, the storylines are way off of the real story and they have jumped the shark too many times. Time to cancel Gotham.
