A drama following an NYPD detective balancing the demands of her day job and her family.
Laura Diamond is a New York homicide detective who is doing her best to balance her work with her home life as a single mother, which includes two disobedient kids and a soon-to-be ex-husband who is also a cop - and her boss.
Her life can get pretty crazy as a modern-day working mom, but she makes it work with help from her understanding partner.

I love this show. It is serious, yet funny. Debra's character is so lovable and crazy - I enjoy her so much. Great writing. I watch it on Wednesday and then mostly on Saturday I watch the same show over when they put it on - that is how much I love it.

Love this show! It's funny and quite fun to watch and listen to the little jabs the two partners give each other. Laura has some of the qualities that Grace (from Will and Grace) had (always eating etc). We record it every week to ensure not missing it. I wonder about these bad reviews on here. What do THEY watch - the useless Kardashians?!??!

~ Changes since episode #1:~
1. She was a slob......... .now she's fairly neat.
2. She had kids from Hell....now they're actually nice.
3. No reason for husband.....now he wants to reconcile.
4. The crazy editing.........a lot less roller coaster.
5. I stuck around and now I'm glad I did. I try to watch it each week. Someone at NBC was paying attention to viewers complaints....thanks NBC!

Flawed, yes. But it is quirky and fun. Isn't that the point? I'd rather watch this, than a well crafted show that's technically brilliant, but boring. It all boils down to the writers. If the show can remain innovative and charming it could be a nice ride.

I love Debra Messing and the show! I always highlight what to watch, I did not see it on tomorrows schedule. I love the show!!!!

Not as good as Castle but I enjoy Debra Messing. Just get rid of those kids.

@ TV Junkie - But you have to consciously turn on NBC at that time to watch, which I don't understand you're wanting to do! Last nights episode was fairly good. It seems like they're trying to correct many of the mistakes made in the first two shows.
