Kminer, right on point with everything! I love these type of shows as long as they keep doing what they are doing and keeping it real. This and Vikings go hand in hand! Too bad they axed The Bastard Executioner though!

This is an awesome series that goes along well with one of my fav shows, Vikings. It shows it mostly from the prospective of the people being invaded, but also shows the invaders side. It gives a more overall view of the whole Viking European invasion. If you watch Vikings and like me, have been wondering more about what the Brits were doing and plotting about during the invasion, you will not want to miss The Last Kingdom. It really really has to be renewed. After BBC cancelled The Intruders, I almost cancelled my subscription, but they got me back with this show, so I am gone from BBC if they cancel this.

The actor who plays Uhtred would make a fine father for Peter Quill, Star Lord , in the Guardian of the Galaxy sequel.

To monk-juice: This is a good adjunct to the Vikings series, from a different point of view. The stories are similar but not the same nor a copycat. I like it and hope this is renewed.

I've enjoyed the show quite a bit, I hope it does not become the next Sinbad or Atlantis.
