Solo artists, duos, and bands from America's 50 states, five territories, and the Nation's capital compete to win the country's vote for Best Original Song.

The live competition is made up of three rounds as the acts compete in a series of qualifiers, followed by the semi finals, and the ultimate grand final, where one state or territory will emerge victorious.
