The comedy earns a second season order.

NBC announced today that The Carmichael Show has been renewed for Season 2. The new summer comedy fared well during its short, six-episode run. Along with critical acclaim, it drew healthy ratings in key demographics and was the top summer comedy in total viewers.

Hard to believe NBC renewed this show. Writing is horrible, just forced jokes. I feel embarrassed for the actors. NBC's lame attempt to match ABC's Blackish which is well-written and acted. You can't just throw AA actors out with bad writing and expect people will just watch it because the actors are ethnic. NBC, you can do better. This show will not make it through season 2.

I can't believe they will give this show another year.
Ok here is my prediction again for you NBC.. if this makes it 3 years I'm surprised. I think it'll fall next season.
How can you allow people to write such gibberish??

I loved the show I missed two episodes forgot to set DVR, but the ones I watched all characters where well put together and it has a few funny moments enough to get me wanting to watch....Glad its returning for season 2

Is it crying funny no, but it has it's moments. Is it preachy. A little. Is it goofy prat fall slapstick. no. It has points and has hit close to home. Yes I've been pulled over. Once yanked out of my car because the cops didn't think I owned it even though the licence matched the registration. I've grown up with oh but your different then them. This show can has allot of room to grow and it's not reality. of I'm american with a hispanic dad.

Really?!?! No, Really?!? All this show has are political messages to preach.. all 6 episodes preached about some issue. It was, frankly a bit insulting. This wasn't funny at all. It was purely "preachy". Still, it's not as utterly horrible as Mr. Robinson was. However, this show DEFINITELY didn't deserve to be picked up. I think NBC is merely desperate for some shows of a more ethnic nature. Even if they do suck, like the Charmichael Show.

We like this show, its modern day African American"all in the family"! Room for some very funny stories. Hope it last a long time! By the way my family is like this and we're Latino! N.B.C. got it right!!

That was a victim of auto correct lol i know david alan grier he one of my favorite guest on the old verison of lovelines with adam corilla and dr dru

I find it a tad disconcerting that David Alan Grier's name could be so awkwardly butchered by "dave" when it's so clearly displayed just to the side here on the show's page! With that off my chest now, it seemed pretty obvious that 'The Carmichael Show' had a better equation for success than 'Mr. Robinson', as they dealt with significant issues rather than worrying about who was going to get laid which felt like one of the central themes of Craig's show. Glad they got the green light for Season 2!
