FX has ordered up a second season of the freshman comedy.
August 9, 2011
FX has renewed freshman series Wilfred for a second season consisting of 13 episodes. The pick-up was a no-brainer for the network, as the Elijah Wood-led series has become FX's highest-rated first-season comedy ever, averaging 5 million viewers per week.
Wilfred premiered back in June and has so far aired seven of its 13 first-season episodes. The show is an adaptation of the critically-acclaimed Australian series of the same name, and follows a troubled young man who forms a unique friendship with his neighbor's dog, who appears to him as a man in a dog suit.
No timetable has been set for the show's Season 2 launch.

This show is an exceptionally well written dark humor comdey. For those that 'hate it', you just don't 'get it'. It really is much more than stupid humor. In the first episode Ryan tries to kill himself, so you have to wonder if everything Ryan is going through is actually real (to him) or not. Is it his subconscious, or hallucination? Beside being an absolutely hysterical show, it is quite deep too.

If you don't like the show then f*** off. It would only be because you don't grasp the wise puns and outspoken humor of the show. Actually I was surprised at how brilliantly written it was. It contains almost every emotional situation a person (or dog) could have, every character role is essential to the story, the writer wasn't afraid to go beyond boundries of normal television, and to top it off, Wilfred kicks-ass. How couldn't you love a show like this?

Wilfred is an awesome show! I love the quirky little life lessons with the dark humour to go along with it! Wilfred as an Australian man dressed in a dog suit may or may not be imaginary to Ryan(still left up to the imagination), and I guess I can see how half of the world would find something hilariously un-normal stupid... yet aye half of America talk to their dogs! It plays a big role in why so many of us view it.

How does Wilfred get renewed and not Terriers? I am an Elijah Wood fan glad Wilf is back but honestly really liked Terriers? Stumped.

I love this show. Its a dark comedy about a man in a dark place and showing how hard it is to co.e out of if and be a good person. And a guy in a dog suite. Yes.. Its better than seeing wilfred in the onlookers point of very. Then you just see a crazy guy talking to a dog. The suite lets us visualize what the charater is seeing so we are in the little secret. Grow a brain or just watch you whos the boss. Great job on wilfred cant wait to see more.
