This is a wonderful show. Not only did it teach its viewing audience how to conduct their own geanological searches, but it also revealed difficult truths about our nation and its unsung heroes and villians. This show was also a great tool towards understanding and reconciliation for all Americans because no matter how we got here, we have the triumphs and errors of our ancestors from which we can learn to make our nation the best it can be.
NBC just destroyed a national treasure! Shame on them!

I love this show - I have also learned a lot on how to search my own roots. I also loved the history that surrounded the family when looking at the past. How do we get this program renewed - any channel??? How do I contact NBC?

Wow another example of when a TV show is too smart or makes too much sense,it won't last too long! I enjoyed this show.
If you liked this show check out "Finding Your Roots" on PBS. That show has more diverse subjects having their roots traced for example; One week it was Martha Stewart and Sanjay Gupta, the next John Ledgend, and the follwing week Michelle Rodriquez. They also don't always have celebrities as the subjects and seem to dig a bit deeper into the histories so that also keeps it interesting.
That's not to say I won't miss NBC's version though.
