The family tree-tracing series will not return.
May 15, 2012
NBC has cancelled Who Do You Think You Are after three seasons. The genealogy documentary series, which premiered in March 2010, followed one celebrity in each episode as they traced back through their family tree to learn about their roots.
The show aired a total of 27 episodes and featured such stars such as Matthew Broderick, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Martin Sheen. The series finale is set to air this Friday, May 18, 2012.

I, also, am very sorry to see this show canceled. There is not much worth watching on any channel, but this was my favorite show. NBC needs to bring this popular show back!

Another blunder on NBC's part, first they cancelled "Outsourced" and now "Who you think you are". I now purposely don' t watch NBC. I hope these two shows are picked up by another station. ABC or CBS please!

I'm sad to see this sho was cancelled!!!
It gav me the courage to find out where my lineage cam from it turned out that there was more to the family tree than I was told.
My grandfather means the world to me god rest his soul he adopted my father so I wanted to kno about his family as far bac I could go
He had 5 brothers n 2 of them were in the mob in the 1920's both of which were killed by a rival execution style
My grandfather died last year on my birthday

Extremely bad mistake for NBC not to renew this show! So guessing we will expect to see more trash reality shows!

This is one of the worst decisions that NBC has made! I loved this show and so did everyone we know. The only reason I found out it was canceled was because I was looking online to see when it started again!

Who Do You Think You Are? was fascinating because each episode was completely new, since everyone's story is unique and diverse and the players are authentic. Each week, someone's history brought to light and every viewer had a realization that each one of us can look back to see where our story began and where it will lead. Once upon a time...neverending story...that's the stuff of every generation since time began. Life changes and we entertain the masses but it is a mistake to think that stories are boring to a Facebook generation. The truth has always been that people's stories are real and they will always be entertaining. Get with the program, NBC!

Who Do You Think You Are? has to have been more popular than the info given above. Who Do You Think You Are? and Finding Your Roots are the top two of my favorite five TV shows. Read below about Finding Your Roots popularity on PBS and the millions that watched that show!!!
Will Finding Your Roots return to PBS? “We’re planning season two right now, but we won’t air it until 2014,†Gates tells me. His next project, African Americans: Many Rivers to Cross, will air in 2013.
“Millions and millions of people watch this series,†Gates says of Finding Your Roots. “We’re averaging 2.5 million people an episode. The first four episodes -- ten million people watched. That’s incredibly successful. It's very gratifying to me, and I’m deeply honored to be a part of it.â€
