I loved this show and watched it every week via Itunes so it doesn't count to the ratings. They need to change the ratings system since most people now watch shows online since they cut the cord on cable and dish.

Alphas was a great show. The writing and acting, especially Gary, was just fantastic. We're sad to see this show go. It had so much potential.
We really need to figure out a better way of financing tv shows.

It's odd that in the Age of the Nerd, "Syfy" can not keep a decent show, even if they do come across one who wants to watch it? "OMG I LOVE THIS SHOW!" 2 seasons later, canceled. If your fav show is on Syfy it will end too soon for a story to fully unfold. I say cancel the network & get a real network to pick up these shows & bring some goodies out of retirement (SGU is one I miss).
So glad shows I love, such as Game of Thrones, Falling Skies, Supernatural, and The Walking Dead, have nothing to do with the Syfy Network.

"“The name Sci Fi has been associated with geeks and dysfunctional, antisocial boys in their basements with video games and stuff like that, as opposed to the general public and the female audience in particular,†said TV historian Tim Brooks, who helped launch Sci Fi Channel when he worked at USA Network.
Mr. Brooks said that when people who say they don’t like science fiction enjoy a film like “Star Wars,†they don’t think it’s science fiction; they think it’s a good movie.
“We spent a lot of time in the ’90s trying to distance the network from science fiction, which is largely why it’s called Sci Fi,†Mr. Brooks said. “It’s somewhat cooler and better than the name ‘Science Fiction.’ But even the name Sci Fi is limiting.â€
We need a real science fiction channel, one that's not ashamed of science fiction.

The Nelson ratings do not count recorded shows and for good reason: the Nelson ratings are for advertisers to determine how many people watch a show and how much to spend for advertising.
Most people who record shows skip through the commercials making them useless for advertisers.
