The new comedy will return for a second season.

NBC has renewed About a Boy for a second season. The freshman comedy has been enjoying a successful run since premiering in February after the Olympics.
Adapted from the book and movie of the same name, About a Boy has been one of the network's best-rated comedies this season, airing alongside other newbie Growing Up Fisher in the 9:00pm hour following The Voice.
UPDATE: Season 2 of About a Boy premieres on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 9:30pm.

I enjoy this show. It is easy to watch and endearing, plus no loud laugh track. Having Minnie Driver is a plus, love her voice/music.

I am glad this is renewed, I could not have handled a cancellation after the gut wrenching season finale.

A good family show. Love it. Most shows are so violent we can't watch as family.

I definitely like this tv series more than the movie-- and maybe even better than the book. Minnie Driver is hilarious. The writing is really smart, and the acting even smarter. Hope this goes on for many seasons!

This is by far my favorite new show. I never read the book, but I loved the movie. I wasn't sure how they could pull of a series, but I was pleasantly surprised. I am so happy this has been renewed!

The show is one of the few new shows I look forward to each week. The characters are very well developed and the interaction between Will and Marcus is great.
Kudos to NBC for making the right decision on this one.
