The low-rated comedy is pulled from the schedule.
July 28, 2015
NBC has cancelled sophomore comedy Welcome To Sweden, pulling the series from its schedule effective immediately. Word broke from creator and star Greg Poehler, who took to Instagram with a heartfelt post this afternoon thanking the fans and crew.
The import comedy was a mild success during its debut run, pulling in decent ratings for a summer series. Its fortunes took a turn for the worse this time around, however, with its numbers falling to less than half of what they were last year for all four of episodes aired.
Taking Welcome To Sweden's time slot this Sunday will be a rerun of Hollywood Game Night. The week following will begin NFL coverage.

Kinda liked the show... Not enough to defend it here though. It was just one of those shows that, while entertaining and witty, continued to whisper "cancel me" in every episode after the pilot. Characters seemed to struggle to be endearing and the location change into the city just seemed unnecessary (Hint: changes like that are clear indicators that someone is adjusting the recipe because a show isn't finding it's rhythm).

This was a show I really tried and wanted to like, but couldn't. It just wasn't that funny. It's a shame, it could have been very good with better writing and more compelling characters.

I tried a couple episodes last year and I just couldn't stand it so I was surprised it got a second season when I've seen so many amazing series get killed off way quicker. Sorry too the fans of the show. I hope they burn off the remaining unaired episodes so you at least get a chance too see them.

I really liked this show. It was well-written with a strong cast and I felt that it had a brilliant future here. I honestly thought it would do well against "Simpsons" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" repeats.

Well, considering this is just the Swedish show censored and with english subtitles, you can just find the rest of the season that was already broadcast over there somewhere else.

I actually think the show was getting better this second season. I don't think NBC gave it a decent shot for the second season - if I had not had it programmed in my DVR I would not have known it was even coming back. I think NBC had decided a long ago it would not be staying and set it up to fail.
