'Black Sails' To End After Season 4

The pirate drama will conclude in 2017.

Starz announced today that the upcoming fourth season of Black Sails will be its last. The adventure drama, which was renewed for Season 4 back in 2015, is set to return with its final 10 episodes in 2017.

Black Sails will end as the first Starz original series to reach four seasons. The show has averaged a healthy 3.6 million viewers across multiple platforms through its first three years on the air, and also picked up two Emmy Awards in 2014 for Outstanding Special and Visual Effects in a Supporting Role as well as Outstanding Sound Editing.

I loved this show, a nice mix of history and fiction. I think that ending after 4 seasons is a good idea, though I am sad to see the end. I would definitely be interested in seeing a remake of Treasure Island with these actors though as a final wrap-up to the wonderful series.

Where else am I going to be able to see Tom Hopper(Billy Bones) every week?!lol
I agree with other posters though, it's better to end it on a high note than to have it drag on and water down the story.

I agree with everyone great show, but a limited run is the best idea.

Considering this is a show based on "history," it can only go so long anyway. Bummed but makes sense
