The adventure drama adds another season.

Starz has renewed Black Sails for a third season. The drama, which premiered earlier this year, does not begin Season 2 until this coming January. If the show's production schedule sticks to one season each year, Season 3 won't premiere until 2016.

A GAY Pirate - get real. There were GAY men back in 1775, but they weren't Pirates. After the KISS, I turned it off and that is where it will stay.

Now that the second season of Black Sails has ended, I can no longer look forward to taking a huge drink of my favorite rum when any of the characters would say: “The Urca Gold.†It was truly a fun time. I must admit that the drinks were longer and deeper when Max or Eleanor would say it as compared to Captain Flint or Vain. I am after all a heterosexual. Not that I was displeased with Captain Flint and Lord Hamilton hooking up. I felt it added more depth and scope to the show and allowed for the sex and violence to be that much more believable. But what I’m hoping for next year is, to see Billy Bones drop kick Long John Silver’s ass down the hill and watch him tumble and fall, like Jack and Jill and scrape his little shin. Oh I’m just kidding LJS.

I loved this show but I agree, when it showed Captain Flint with his lover, I went...OH NO don't go there!! I know there were gay pirates but I do agree it is a trend and I have started to lose interest, I want to see more gritty real life pirate stuff LOL

WTF! Hello m****s... a good series explains the story if all you give a shit about is tits and ass you should go to playboy. The show runs the story line and portrays it well. XI starts right off with more of the storyline and keeps you interested. BORING! WAKE THE **** UP! gearing up for great season and hoping for a third.

This was better than I thought it would be.Hopefully they saw where the weak spots were and Season 2 will be even better.

To the people who didn't enjoy the 1st season: my recollection is that it was good and popular enough to be featured on unrelated cell phone ads, about mobile video streaming, that aired on network TV. Also, as it often happens, it seems to have inspired the creation of the bland network TV show Crossbones. I'd say that's success, and I'm glad it was renewed.
