HBO has targeted an end to the hit series.
July 31, 2016
A few months after Game of Thrones was renewed for a seventh season, HBO has confirmed that plans are in place to end the series after Season 8, which has yet to be formally announced. The move doesn't come as a complete shock, as rumors ahead of its previous renewal speculated that showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were eyeing two last seasons to end the show.
The adaptation of George R.R. Martin's fantasy drama has been a massive hit for HBO, and even after eight seasons will still be going out on top, as its ratings show no sign of slowing down any time soon. With such huge numbers, it's no surprise that the cable network has stated that they'd be happy to do plenty more seasons of the show, but as it stands now, they are letting the showrunners take the lead as to when to conclude the series.
Fans might be interested to hear that, while nothing as been announced, the possibility of a future Game of Thrones spinoff is on the table. HBO programming president Casey Bloys said today that he's open to the idea down the road as long as the producers are on board and it makes sense creatively.

Actually glad this show is ending hopefully something else good replaces the time slot. I did honestly give this show a chance. About 3 or 4 times I managed to watch Season 1 and I only make it til about ep 4 maybe 5 before I just abandon the series. Could not get into it the series is just boring so not sure what all the hype was about. Hoping HBO has something amazing to replace the time slot.

Well, it's got to end at some point. I'll miss it, but perhaps another high fantasy tv show will take its place. Hopefully one that isn't Eurocentric. Other places had kingdoms and empires too. But anyways, I feel the main battle everyone has been waiting for is in motion: the part where Daenerys battles for the Iron Throne. All they really need is 20 more episodes to wrap it up, but I'd love extra long season finales especially for the very last episode. I wouldn't mind that being two hours long so it could tie up all loose ends and storylines.

This show is horrible and should have been cancelled after season 1 episode 1. The effects are less then a B rated movie by asylum and the story is so lame and hard to follow.
The characters are easily forgettable and nobody of importance ever dies or captures your interest for more then a few moments.
You would think being on a network like this they might show some nudity every now and then but NOPE! Not even some side boob come on!?!
2 Thumbs Down. 0/5 stars.
