The fantasy drama's upcoming season will be its last.
August 29, 2016
NBC announced today that Grimm will be ending after Season 6. The veteran supernatural drama has been a solid performer over the course of its run, developing a devoted fan base that brought consistent ratings to its Friday night time slot.
While never a breakout hit, Grimm found a nice little niche to settle into that kept it on the air for over 100 episodes. The show ranks as the network's second-longest-running series currently on the air after Law & Order: SVU, which is well ahead at 18 seasons.
Grimm will be returning for its sixth and final season on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 8:00pm. Season 6 will be shorter than the typical 22 episodes it tallied in Seasons 1 through 5, with an order of 13 episodes to conclude the series. In the show's final stretch, fans can look forward to the long-awaited showdown between Nick and Captain Renard.

PLEASE do not cancel this show. every season we have been tortured by rumors, then cutbacks in episodes ordered.. and now they say 13 episodes for season six and that is it? This show is JUST getting better and better! I and many of my Facebook friends and ALL of the Grimm pages on FB have initiated a petition. If they are basing ratings only on Nielsens, cable and television - that is immensely inaccurate. There is streaming, popularity of the Syndication on TNT.. DVD rentals and all of the FANSITES fan pages. Seinfeld was to be a one season show, and Supernatural was threatened with cancellation almost every year until the last few of its astonishing 11 YEAR run - and now they are talking about a feature film. FANS kept this on the air, FANS kept Buffy on the air, Seinfeld on the air - many shows were kept on strictly by feedback from fans. PLEASE no more lame night time game shows, recycled from the 60s and 70s, more reality? NO PLEASE. Commercial TV will die without having a steady, long time viewing audience for scripted programs. COME ON!

I request NBC to reconsider their decision to cancel Grimm. This series has maintained a captive audience for 6 seasons in spite of the Friday night time slot. I urge you to review your options and allow this series to continue. Viewers from children to seniors are enamored with Grimm! I hope viewers everywhere join me to voice their keen disappointment in the loss of the Grimm series!

While I enjoyed the show, I kind of felt like it was heading towards wrapping up based on the last two seasons story arcs... I'm wondering if there's a possibility for a spin off eventually, or if they can ship it to Netflix or some other online streaming service.

@mtvsam that stat means shows CURRENTLY on the air, not of all time.

Seriously?!?!? WTF, NBC? Do you want no viewers at all? First, you air a nearly perfect "Constantine" but only for HALF a season and cancel it. You didn't even have to pay writers to write original scripts, you had 100 issues of "Hellblazer" to crib from. Now, you're killing the only other great show on your network. Hey, CW, how about adding this to your DC lineup? You've already has John Constantine as a guest character on "Arrow", same actor even. Pleeeeeaaaasssseee?I promise I'll even watch "Supergirl" if you do.....

That's a wildly inaccurate stat. Friends ran 10 years, not to mention the original Law and Order ran 20. There have to be many more examples.

What'dya expect from chick TV. The male leads need to act dumb and bumbling, needing guidance from action girl (just like in real life not) but she died, turned evil and transformed into robo agent. The other lead runs a shop and acts supportive. Yuk says the entertainment borg and the bad lawyer girl blondie turned into a house wifey. So it's a wrap.

That's a shame, one of my favorite shows, I'd hope it go as long as supernatural, but at least it will have a proper end.
